So I was just sitting at home with my family and came up with a good blog idea. Holidays in a relationship, where are they spent?
I happen to have a very small family. My dad's parents moved down to Florida, we are still on Long Island in New York. His brother, my uncle moved down to Florida about 15 years ago, and passed away 5 years ago. My mom's mom is still on Long Island as well, but she splits the holidays between here and in North Carolina where my mom's sister, my aunt has lived for 5 years, after living in Florida for 10 years. My brother is a year older than me, 24, and lives upstate, New York. He comes home occasionally, when he is not working.
So, when I got a girlfriend 5 months ago, I thought Holidays would be a little busier. I was wrong. I guess the reason is because we are both away at college still, so when we are home, we try to spend time with the family. I invited my girlfriend over for Thanksgiving, but she was having it with her family. I wonder if this is normal, or what other couples do. I assume they usually either split Holidays by year, or for bigger holidays do one night at each family's. I really wish she was able to come over, but I understand the situation. She has come over for holidays before, she came here for the Jewish Holidays in September. It was very nice to have her here and be able to share it with her and my family, and to give them time to bond more with each other. It was also on a break from school, but one that was a little longer; also, she is not Jewish, so I guess that's why it was easier.
Either way, I really wish I could spend the holiday with her, I miss her a lot. Hopefully I will get the invitation to her place for Christmas, and hopefully she will be able to spend a night or two here for Hanukkah.
We have made this blog to give and get the real views of both Men and Women. We will hopefully be giving you advice and getting advice from you.

Am I missing something? How is Bristol Palin talking about abstinence?

Halloween : Couples Edition
Halloween has come and gone yet again, my last time in college. Now, this has many implications. This is really my last time of picking a costume, and making it completely provocative and that being socially acceptable. After college, you lose that leverage, in my opinion. Also, Halloween is now back to the good old once a year, as opposed to the extravaganza called Halloween Weekend which begins circa Oct 31, freshman year. Now, Halloween when in a relationship puts quite the twist on the holiday.
Has your boyfriend or girlfriend dictated the level of scandal of your halloween costume? Is this okay? What about in general? Do you wear more conservative outfits when youre in a relationship? Personally, I pretty much got away with murder this halloween. A french maid and Mrs. Claus were the outfits I donned for Halloween Weekend this year, both pretty scandalous, but definitely not even close to the worst I saw. My boyfriend was 100% okay with it. Plus, he was Santa! He never complains about what I wear, because he trusts me in the end. He was shirtless Santa, and I didn't really mind either, because again at the end of the day, I know he's mine. The other 363 days of this year, I also want my boyfriend to look good when he goes out, because I try to look good when I do too. Just because I'm in a relationship doesn't mean I let myself go to the way-side. I love the feeling knowing that girls look at him and being able to say, yup, he's mine! And I think he feels the same way, it keeps the attraction alive in the relationship. I admit, I slip into the comfort zone when I'm in a committed relationship, but I think that's pretty common.
I think I got pretty lucky with my boyfriend in that he doesn't dictate (or try to) how I dress. I see this happen to couples all the time. I am not the kind of person who could tolerate it, because I think it is a symptom of mistrust. I'm interested to hear a guy's opinion on this one....=]

Sitting In Class
I don't know about you, but I get pretty bored in class sometimes. You ever wonder how any of your professors got hired? I mean we were sitting in class and the professor was just sitting behind the computer, reading his power point notes, word for word. It would have been fine if there was substance to the slides, but no, it was just words. There were no pictures, no graphs, no nothing.
Anyway, as I was sitting in class, I was looking through YouTube. I came across this video.
Do you think this epitomize's the 80s? I think its pretty funny and pretty accurate. I was born in 1987 and I remember most of these things. Those big brown speakers are still in my parents' house. My dad loves them and won't throw them away. He says they were too expensive and are much better quality than any of the crap sold today. He literally has the surround sound home theater system in our house go through those speakers.
How about the Delorean? I have only seen one in my life, ONE! The only place to see one is in the Back To The Future Trio. How about you? Seen any?
Meet and Greet
Hi Everyone!!
Jess and Jared here. This is our first blog.
We have made this blog to give and get the real views of both Men and Women. We will hopefully be giving you advice and getting advice from you. Let's start out the blog with our frist topic: Getting to know us.
Jared: I am 23. I graduated from SUNY Binghamton in 2009 with a degree in Economics, Concentration in Financial Analysis. Given the poor job market at the time, I am now finishing up my Masters in Accounting. I will complete it in the Spring of 2011. I love being outside and being active. Besides going to the gym, I love all sports like most men. I watch football every Sunday, as long as I am not playing any of the sports that consume my life: soccer, flag football, co rec football (female QBs) and Dodgeball. When I graduate in May I will start working for a Big 4 Accounting firm in NYC in the Fall of 2011.
Jess: I am 21. I will graduate from Binghamton University in May 2011. I am majoring in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Management Information Systems. I have been a cheerleader at BU for three years, and have been since age 5. I play soccer (with Jared) and I enjoy going to the gym, I am a bartender, and like being outdoors. I like yoga and pilates also. I come from a big family with 4 brothers, so I'm a guy's girl and also love most sports. I don't let a year go by without painting Easter eggs or carving pumpkins, so I like being a kid sometimes, but some may say I'm too serious about my goals.
Jess and Jared are both currently in relationships (sorry everyone!) Jared for four months and Jess for 10.
Jess and Jared met three years ago, Jess's Freshman and Jared's Junior year at Binghamton, through living in the same community on campus, and being involved in Residential Life.
